Local resident and Snellville Art Commission Vice Chairwoman Alisa Boykin officially announced Tuesday (Aug. 27) her run for the Snellville City Council.
When qualifying Monday, Boykin decided to challenge Mayor Pro Tem Tom Witts for his post in the November general election. His seat, along with two other seats, are on the ballot.
According to a news release, Boykin moved to Snellville from South Carolina nearly 10 years ago. She is a published author, and she and her husband own Time 2 Inspire, a performing arts
studio for youth that teaches music, acting, modeling, dance and more. Their office is in Snellville and they have a studio at Northlake Mall.
