Briscoe Park Phase Two on Tap

The city is now taking bids for phase two of the revamped Briscoe Park, off Lenora Church Road.

By May 2012, city officials expect to complete phase two of Briscoe Park. And, when completed, the park will include:

  • Two new soccer fields,
  • Additional parking and sidewalks
  • Fencing, irrigation and additional lighting
  • An outdoor theater/pavilion
  • A pool
  • In addition, plans call for the removal of the volley ball court, tennis courts, softball field and the asphalt paving associated with them.

The city has allocated SPLOST funds to improve the park over the next several years. The initial phase of the Briscoe Park Master Plan was completed last year. 

Currently, T.W. Briscoe Park consists of 87 developed acres, with a seven-acre fishing lake, 1.2-mile fitness trail, tennis courts, playgrounds and outdoor basketball courts, among other amenities.
