Celebrate Snellville Days This Weekend

The festivities kick off Saturday morning with a parade, and then the fun continues all weekend.

The 39th annual Snellville Days parade and festival takes place this weekend, May 5-6, and everyone is invited.

Activities begin with a parade featuring group floats, live performers, four marching bands, mascots including Chopper and Maximus, clowns, stilt walkers, motorcycles, politicians, cheerleaders, beauty queens and much more. Music by the parade's Grand Marshall Jordan Rager from NBC's "The Voice" will be played.

Buck Lanford, an Emmy Award winner and alumnus, from Fox 5 Sports will be the Master of Ceremonies. The theme of this year's parade is "Proud to Be..."

The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the on Wisteria Drive, travel to North Road and the turn on Oak Road until it reaches the Grand Stand at . will be serving breakfast, and clowns will be making free balloon animals for children while you spectators wait for the parade to arrive.

After the parade, the Snellville Days festival begins at . Nearly 80 arts and craft vendors are listed on the event's website, as well as a number of civic booth, food vendors and sponsors.Β

Entertainment is 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday. Acts include: the Soul Purpose Band, Metro Jazz Club, Dancers, Masters of the Chainsaw, and more. Jordan Rager will perform 12 p.m. - 12:25 p.m. on Saturday.
