City Council Meeting Agenda for Jan. 14

This meeting will include discussion on multiple contentious issues, including a "resolution of confidence" in former (or not, depending on who you ask) City Attorney Tony Powell, a resolution on the lower lake dam at Summit Chase and changes

Snellville City Council will meet Jan. 14 for a regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. A work session will be held at 6:30 p.m. The full notes can be found on the City's website

  • 2nd reading - Consideration and action on ordinance to amend Chapter 6 governing alcohol to allow the sale of growlers in permitted locations
  • 1st reading - Consideration and action on ordinance to amend Chapter 6 governing alcohol, to provide for the serving of wine in an art shop within stated parameters and for other purposes.
  • 1st reading - Consideration and action on ordinance clarifying the scope of the Mayor's authority to participate in administrative affairs pursuant to section 3.10(e) of the City Charter
  • 1st reading - Consideration and action on Home Rule Ordinance to add section 5.16(c) to the Charter of the City of Snellville
  • 1st reading - Consideration and action on Home Rule Ordinance to add section 2.31 to the Charter of the City of Snellville

  • Mayor's nomination and council's confirmation of Jack Poles for the Downtown Development Authority Board appointment. 
  • Consideration and action on election of Mayor Pro Tem for 2013 (The Snellville Code requires that the Mayor Pro Tem be elected "at the beginning of each calendar year.)
  • Consideration and action on resolution of lower lake dam (involves language that would have the city pay $30,800 for the "slip lining of the 112' of drainage pipe under Timberline Drive and incent the Summit Chase HOA to secure financing for lake restoration, up to and inclusive of a potential City guarantee on the note, with stipulations.)
  • Consideration and action on resolution asking the general assembly to support changes to the City of Snellville Charter
  • Consideration and action on ethics complaint filed by Russ Nuspliger, representing Gwinnett Ethics
  • Consideration and action on resolution of confidence in Anthony O.L. Powell
