City Council Meeting February 13

Snellville City Council meets Monday to discuss a number of key items.

Snellville City Council will meet Feb. 13 for its first regular meeting of the month. The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be preceded by a work session at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at City Hall. You may view the full agenda documents here.

  • Work session discussion items, include: City attorney bill; Vietnam veteran's memorial; mediator discussion; nominations to Board of Appeals, Planning Commission, and Evermore CID; LCI update; retreat date selection and moderator; resolution to retain counsel for the city council; and changes to the city charter
  • Regular meeting items, include:
    • Ceremonial matters: Senior Center Volunteer of the Year Award presented to Gloria Roberts
    • Committee/department reports: Snellville Tourism and Trade and Planning Commission
    • Consent agenda: Consideration and action on: Zoning amendment regarding residential districts in order to add personal care homes to conditional uses, a conditional use permit for Forrest Hills Baptist Church, creation of ethics commission, ordinance to restate Georgia Municipal Employees' Benefits System defined retirement plan, solid waste ordinance, mayor's nomination of Tod Warner and Jerry Oberholtzer to Urban Redevelopment Agency
    • New business: Consideration and action on: mayor's nomination of an interim city manager, selection of a parliamentarian, surplus of vehicles and equipment, purchase of automated license plate reader, investigation into Councilman Mike Sabbagh, resolution to retain counsel for the city council
    • Other: Council reports, mayor's report, public comment
