City of Snellville Hires Public Information Officer

Brian Arrington is the city's first ever PIO.

The city of Snellville has hired its first-ever public information officer, Brian Arrington. 

Arrington, whose first day of work was Dec. 9, has been working in newspapers for 13 years, most recently as editor and publisher of The Walton Tribune in Monroe.

“It is a great pleasure to serve the residents and employees of the city of Snellville,” Arrington said. “There are a lot of positive things happening in the city and it is my job to let the community know. Our elected officials and staff are dedicated to making Snellville a better place to work, live and play and I expect to share a lot of exciting news in the future.”

Arrington will work to increase communication with the community through social media, local media outlets, at engagements in the community and through the city’s publications including its website. As the city’s public information officer, Arrington is also the point of contact for all media inquiries for all city departments.

“With his knowledge and experience, Brian will fill a long-needed role in our city government,” said City Manager Butch Sanders. “The mayor and council and department directors are excited to have him on the team.
