First Time Candidate Karen Bennett Runs for District 94 House Seat

First time candidate, Karen Bennett, is running for office in House District 94, the District newly created when the lines were redrawn.

(Editor's note:  The following is a press release from the campaign to elect Karen Bennett.)

Karen Bennett, who has spent the past 27 years serving and volunteering in Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties in various capacities, is focusing her attention on meeting as many voters in the District as possible in order to fairly represent the interests of District 94 voters.

Most recently, she attended the
for the Judicial Candidates of Gwinnett County where she and other candidates had an opportunity to speak to voters.

Living in DeKalb and working in Gwinnett, Bennett says she is especially interested in the quality of life for all Georgians, particularly the citizens of Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties.  She looks forward to being able to advocate for reasonable solutions for homeowners caught in the housing crisis along with improved education and health access.

Bennett says, “Today, you never know which of your neighbors is in danger of losing their home. Things are improving and I want to be a part of insuring that improvement continues for all the citizens in the District.

"Affordable housing affects us all. I look forward to the July 31 election as the beginning of my journey to serving all the constituents of District 94.”

With the newly drawn lines, Bennett advises voters to expect their voter registration cards in the mail. If voters haven’t received their cards, they should contact their Voter Registration Office in order to determine their status.

Bennett reminds voters that if you have not voted in the past two presidential elections or had any other activity such as change of address or name, then it is likely you will need to reregister to vote in order to be eligible to vote in the November election.
