1. Children's Christmas Village

When/Where: December 3, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., , 2485 Scenic Highway, Snellville

Why Go: At this family fun event, free breakfast will be served, there will be free pictures with Santa and a special $1 gift shop for the kiddos. Other events include crafts, story time and viewings of a live nativity scene. Register in person on Saturday or online for your shopping time at the church's website. When/Where: December 3, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Gwinnett Performing Arts Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth,

Why Go: Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Gwinnett Ballet's presentation of Nutcracker. The organization is based in Snellville, and the team has been working all year in preparation for the big moment. The production extends through the month of December.

Pricing: Tickets are $13.50 - 29.50. Tickets may be purchased via Ticketmaster.

3. Jingle Bell Walk

When/Where: December 3, 9 a.m., Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain

Why Go: This walk/run supports awareness of arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. Join thousands of other runners and walkers in this event, as they wear holiday-themed outfits, tie jingle bells to their shoes and raise money for a good cause.

Pricing: Park entrance is $10 per vehicle. Registration is $35.00 for adults and $20.00 for children 12 years old and younger.

4. Humane Society Open House

When/Where: December 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Gwinnett County Humane Society, Avenue at Webb Gin, 1350 Scenic Highway, Snellville

Why Go: Celebrate the holidays with the local humane society. There will be an open house, where you shop for your pets, enjoy the bake sale and refreshments and see adoptable animals. Your favorite furry friend can also get pictures with Santa.Β 

Pricing: Entrance is free. $10 donation for picture session.
