Gwinnett County Inclement Weather Update for Feb. 14

Many county offices open on Friday.

Openings

All Gwinnett County Government administrative offices will open on Friday, February 14 at 8:00am.

Gwinnett County Transit will resume its regular service schedule for local, paratransit, and GCT express service. GCT-operated GRTA Xpress will start service for trips scheduled at 7:00am or later. All offices of the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner, including tag offices, will open at 10:00am.

Gwinnett County Courts are closed until 10:00am. Trials and hearings are cancelled all day, but some court offices may be open for routine business. Please call ahead to confirm. Read below for information about Valentine's Day weddings.

Closings and cancellations

Ronald Reagan Parkway will remain closed to vehicular traffic until after the Run the Reagan road race on Saturday, February 15.

The Buford, Centerville, Norcross, and Lawrenceville Senior Service Centers will be closed.

Transportation provided by the Department of Human Services will not run.

Gwinnett Juvenile Court evening classes at the Detention Center are cancelled.

The Cupid's Piano Concert and Desserts event at Bethesda Park Senior Center originally scheduled for February 14 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 18, 12:30pm - 2:00pm.

Valentine's Day weddings will happen at Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center

The Magistrate and Probate Court judges will still perform wedding ceremonies and vow renewals, but weddings will take place at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville instead of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse as originally planned. Services will be performed between 10:00am and 4:30pm.

Couples who are getting married must obtain a valid marriage license prior to the ceremony and bring that original license with them to the ceremony. Contact Probate Court at 770.822.8250 for information on obtaining a marriage license. Couples who are renewing their wedding vows do not need to bring a copy of their wedding license. All services are free and no appointment is necessary.

Trash collection

Trash and recycling collection will resume. If your normal collection day is Friday, your trash and recycling will be collected. Please place your carts and bins at the curb before 7:00am. If your trash and recycling was not collected this week, your hauler will collect your items, including any overages, next week on your regularly scheduled day.If you have any questions, please contact the Solid Waste and Recovered Materials Call Center by telephone at 770.822.7141 or email at gcsolidwaste@gwinnettcounty.com. Gwinnett residents who live inside city limits should check with their city for the status of their trash service.
