Gwinnett Offering Free Assistance for Income Tax Filing Season

The opening date for filing 2013 returns arrives soon.

Income tax filing season for 2013 returns soon will be officially open. And Gwinnett County residents will have a free resource for help.

According to a Gwinnett County events newsletter, AARP will offer tax assistance on Feb. 4-7, 2014, on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be held from 8 a.m to noon on those dates.

The site will be at Bethesda Park Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road in Lawrenceville. For more information, call (678) 277-0179.

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that 2013 tax returns will be accepted beginning Jan. 31, 2014. The date was moved back due to the 2013 federal government shutdown.
