Masino DUI Arraignment Set

Gwinnett Chamber VP Nick Masino is scheduled to appear in Gwinnett State Court in Lawrenceville on Tuesday in a case arising from his.

Masino, a Suwanee resident and former Suwanee mayor, is to appear before Judge John Doran, according to Gwinnett court records. The case was moved from Suwanee Municipal Court.

Masino was arrested after his vehicle was spotted swerving by Suwanee Police on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road the night of Aug. 3. Earlier, an off-duty officer saw Masino's vehicle swerving on I-85 and contacted Suwanee Police, according to arrest recors.

Masino declined to complete a field sobriety test at the arrest scene and was taken to the Gwinnett Detention Center, where he was released on bond. Also, he confirmed to officers that he was texting while driving, which is illegal in Georgia.

According to Gwinnett court records, attorneys for Masino have filed a motion to challenge the admissability of Masino's statement to police.
