New Artist Featured at City Hall for July

Continuing its "Art on the Wall" project, the city of Snellville is highlighting Andrew King as July's featured artist.

The city of Snellville will feature works by Andrew King during the month of July at , as part of an effort to highlight more art in Snellville.

King's works will be displayed beginning July 3 and continuing until the end of the month in the Community Room.

Based in Snellville, King is a professional architectural illustrator and fine artist, whose "laid-back" personality breaks the rules, city officials said in a press release.

"Although watercolor is his medium of choice, King likes to mix watercolor, acrylic, pastel, oil, sticks, leaves, dirt, condiments, or whatever he happens to find lying around to create his paintings," city officials said. "Each piece that King produces is meant to be an expression of his personality, passion, and interests."

His interest in art and painting began while attending architectural school at Georgia Tech. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in architecture, King began work as a design architect, the press release stated.

To date, King has created some 5,000 professional illustrations and hundreds of fine art paintings.

In February, King also donated an original piece of work that is now displayed in the mayor's office.
