Oberholtzer to Run for Gwinnett Commission Seat

Jerry Oberholtzer, former mayor of Snellville, said he has paperwork ready to file and will be seeking the Gwinnett County District 3 Commission seat.

After being termed out of his position as mayor of Snellville in November, Jerry Oberholzter confirmed that he will be seeking the Gwinnett County District 3 Commission seat in 2012.

"I did stand up at the Republican Breakfast last week and let them know that I would be running for this office and I've formed a committee and prepared the paperwork," Oberholzer said. "I will be making a formal announcement next week."

Oberholzer served on the Snellville City Council for four years before serving two terms as mayor of the city. Under Snellville's City Charter, a mayor can only serve two terms.
