Updated: Occupy Atlanta Calls Tuesday Evening Press Conference

(Updated Nov. 8, 10:35 p.m.) A group Occupy Gwinnett is taking over assisting a Snellville family reported on Monday.

Snellville and Centerville residents crowded Lawanna Rorey's front yard this evening, along with protesters from the Occupy Atlanta movement, to stand in solidarity with families who they assert have been wrongly foreclosed on. Β 

While the Occupy movement has been accused of being leaderless and without a clear goal by its skeptics, Occupy Gwinnett seems to have a more defined list of demands. Β

"Tonight at 9 p.m. Occupy Atlanta will be holding a press conference at 4197 Shoreside Circle, Snellville. We plan to share our progress on saving the from a wrongful foreclosure from their mortgage holder.

"We are also excited to annouce the formation of Occupy Gwinnett. Members of the new occupation will be present. One of their first actions will be to take over the occupation of the Rorey house as well as research other wrongful foreclosures in Gwinnett. Gwinnett has the fourth highest forclosure rate in the country.

"Occupy Atlanta looks forward to growing the occupation movement using this model. Together we can protect each other from a currupt economic system that continues to gobble up our homes, our jobs, and our dreams."
