Sabbagh Announces Official Run for Re-Election

The incumbent is seeking to serve a second term on the Snellville City Council.

Snellville City Councilman Mike Sabbagh announced this week that he will be running for re-election in November.

He, along with five other candidates, qualified Monday for the city council, which has three seats on the ballot. Former Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Bender has challenged him for Post 5.

If re-elected, Sabbagh will be serving his second term, having been first elected in 2009.

Sabbagh is an engineer for the U.S. Department of Transportation and is an adjunct professor. His vision includes repairing streets, working toward a new town center, and having safe routes to the area's schools through sidewalks, passive parks and bike paths.

"I love this city,'' Sabbagh said. "I am firmly committed, as is my family, in continuing to be part of renaissance of Snellville. I believe this city's future can and will be incredibly bright. I very much want the opportunity to finish the job that I and others have started.”

Sabbagh will kick off his campaign for re-election Thursday (Aug. 29) with a private reception. To learn more about Councilman Mike Sabbagh, visit his website at www.votesabbagh.com.
