Snellville City Council meets Monday, Feb. 28. Brookwood High football team to be honored.

Snellville City Council will meet Monday, Feb. 28 for its second regular meeting of the month. The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be preceded by a work session at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at City Hall. You may view the full agenda documents here.

  • Work session discussion items, include: the senior center, a town green update, hiring a project manager for the Living Centers Initiative (LCI) study, a proposed 911 center, greenways and an art in public places ordinance, among other things.
  • Regular meeting items, include:
    • Recognizing Megan Morgan, recipient of the Stars and Stripes Award for the Girl Scouts
    • Recognizing Brookwood High School, state football champs
    • Senior Center’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award, presented to Dale Sikes
    • Arbor Day
    • Committee/department reports: Evermore CID, Board of Appeals, Parks and Recreation
    • Consent agenda items, including consideration and action on the Walton EMC Franchise, a special events ordinance, and an ethics ordinance
    • New business, including consideration and action on selling brick pavers to buy city welcome signs, and a resolution to partner with the state Department of Revenue on collecting past-due business sales tax
