Snellville Man Appointed as Chairman of the Governor's Office of Workforce Development

The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development (GOWD) announced a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the State Workforce Investment Board (SWIB).  Governor Nathan Deal appointed Wendell Dallas of Snellville as the new Chairman and Doug Duncan of Augusta as the new Vice-Chairman.

"The Governor's Office of Workforce Development appreciates Chairman Smith's service to the SWIB. He has been a true champion for Georgia's workforce,” said Tricia Pridemore, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development. "Chairman Dallas and Vice-Chairman Duncan will carry on the hard work and serve Georgia well."

Wendell Dallas, State Workforce Investment Board

Dallas is vice president of operations for Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas. He serves on the board for Gwinnett Technical College, where he is chairman, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Energy Workforce Development. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and is a graduate of Leadership Georgia, Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Savannah. He and his wife, Ruth, and their three children reside in Snellville.

Doug Duncan, State Workforce Investment Board

Duncan is currently vice president at Management, Analysis, and Utilization, Inc. in Augusta. He serves on the Development Authority of Columbia County, the Georgia Regents University Planning and Development Committee, the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and the Augusta Young Life Board. Duncan earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Augusta State University. He and his wife, Jean, live in Martinez. Together, they have three children.
