Snellville Officials to Discuss Improvements to Town Green

The mayor and city council will meet Monday for their regular meeting and work session.

The Snellville City Council and mayor will meet Monday (Dec. 9) for their first meeting of the month. 

The regular meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of Snellville City Hall, located at 2342 Oak Road. A work session will precede it at 6:30 p.m. in conference room 145. 

The items on the work session include: 
-Town green improvements: Plans include adding trees, a band shell, event seating, brick seat walls, a monument sign and pedestrian light fixtures.
-The city's chamber of commerce
-Solicitation ordinance
-Administrative procedures for council action
-City manager evaluation
-Strategic action agenda implementation committee update
-Board composition clarification for the DDA and URA
-New job descriptions for the public information officer and payroll/benefit coordinator

The items on the regular meeting include: 
-The mayor's nomination and council's confirmation of Butch Sanders as city manager for a term
-Action on making the revised 2013 Five-Year Short-Term Work program an official amendment to the city's comprehensive plan
-The 2014 agreement with JRM Management Services Inc. for Snellville Days
-Appointments and reappointments of posts for the Snellville Tourism and Trade, the Snellville Public Arts Commission and the Urban Redevelopment Agency
