Snellville Tourism and Trade Accepting Board Member Applications

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 30.

Snellville Tourism and Trade (STAT) is accepting applications for prospective board members. At least one spot on the board is open, as Vice President Kelly McAloon is moving into the Executive Director role.

Nine board positions exist total. Each current member must re-apply and go through the nominating process.

"We will look at applications and make recommendations," said Jon Richards, chair of the nominating committee. "Anyone who wants to apply, can."

They will then vote on four positions Nov. 8 at the Commerce Club meeting. City Council approves three positions, while the Downtown Development Authority approves the other two.

There is no criteria, other than a willingness to attend board meetings and either live or work in Snellville. Applicants should also express a desire to volunteer with local events and help improve the city.
