2012 CRCT: Snellville Schools' Results

The Georgia Department of Education recently released school-level scores for the 2012 CRCT, Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests. See where your neighborhood school stands.

Among Snellville schools, ,  and  were the top scorers on the 2011-2012 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) for grades 3-8, according to recently released data from the state Department of Education.

Gwinnett students took the state-mandated tests in April, and around 12,000 students in each grade took the tests. The content areas are: Reading, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Data, released July 12, show Brookwood Elementary led in all grade levels; Britt Elementary did well in 3rd and 4th grade levels, while Partee, Pharr and Norton performed equally well on the 5th grade level; Snellville Middle led in every grade level and every subject for middle school students.

The biggest gap between middle schools was in 8th grade science and social studies.   

Brookwood Elementary scored well above all the other elementary scores in every category and grade.  

On June 28, the state announced system-level results, which showed that Gwinnett County students continue to surpass their peers.

Britt is wonderful and in the past we haven't been very thrilled with Snellville Middle, but this report gives me hope that by the time my next child gets there, the experience will be better.

Isn't choosing a school one of the most difficult things? It is for me. Mine still have a couple of years in the half-day program at Redeemer, but I have no idea what I'll do once they hit elementary school.
