2013 Brookwood Valedictorian, Salutatorian

Gwinnett County Public Schools announces names of Brookwood High School's 2012-2013 valedictorian and salutatorian.

Gwinnett County Public Schools has released the names of the 2012-2013 valedictorian and salutatorian from Brookwood High School.

The title of valedictorian is normally given to the student with the highest GPA, and salutatorian is given to the student with the second-highest GPA. Photos of the honorees are attached to the story.

  • Valedictorian: Taylor Allen, daughter of Burke and Julie Allen, will attend the University of North Georgia. Her intended major is business marketing. She has received or been offered several scholarships and awards, including a $2,700 golf scholarship; a $2,000 academic scholarship; Region 8-AAAAA Golf Player of the Year (10th and 11th grade); Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient (11th grade); and AP Scholars Award, among oothers. She has served on or participated in: the Key Club, Spanish Club, Brookwood Leadership Team, Beta Club, National Honor Society, varsity golf team, junior varsity basketball team, youth church leader, and in various activites.
  • Salutatorian: Justin Dumrongkulraksa, son of Mike and Darrie, will attend the University of Georgia and major in biochemistry and molecular biology. His career goals include working in pathology or anesthesiology. He has received several honors, including the HOPE Scholarship, the University of Georgia charter scholarship, second place at regional science fair (10th and 12th grade), Georgia Certificate of Merit, and AP Scholars Award, among others. He has participated in marching band, Junior Classical League, Beta Club, National Honor Society, and other activities.Β
