Brookwood High Students Receive National Merit Scholarships

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the college-sponsored scholarship winners on May 29.

Two Brookwood High students learned this week that they are recipients of National Merit college-sponsored scholarships.

The students are:

  • Aaron C. Ragans, a Brookwood High graduating senior, who plans to study law at Emory University
  • Jenny M. Truong, a Brookwood High graduating senior, who plans to study biology at the University of Georgia

All total, there were 2,500 students across the country who received the awards. The scholarships provide $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, which will bring the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship recipients in the 2013 competition to 4,500.
