Back 2 School Youth Summit "A Development in Male Leadership Through Academic Success & Mentoring"
The Rho Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., in conjunction with Gwinnett County Public Schools Community-Based Mentoring Program, is pleased to invite 9th and 10th grade male students to participate in the Inaugural Gwinnett County Back 2 School Male Youth Summit to be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Shiloh High School in Snellville, GA from 8:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. The Summit will serve as an opportunity to bring together over 50 young future leaders to cultivate leadership development within young males to achieve academic success.
The Male Youth Summit will be one of the key ways in which Rho Kappa Lambda will assemble a community of future male leaders within the Gwinnett County community. The Summit will bring together youth to exchange ideas and solutions, acquire leadership and basic skills to expand their academic horizons, and continue to grow as individuals. The Summit engages participants with three dynamic skill-building sessions centered on developing academic skills, leadership through civic awareness, and personal health. The Youth Summit is a unique offering to address the rising male dropout rate, awareness of male sexual responsibility, and exercising leadership through civic awareness. This unique factor is what makes the Summit a truly worthwhile experience.
Students are encouraged to RSVP in advance by visiting www.back2schoolyouthsummit.eventbrite.com, where additional information can be found in reference to the event.
