Final School Enrollment Count

Brookwood schools among most populated.

has held its spot as the second-most populated school in county, following the last official enrollment count by Gwinnett County Public Schools.

The Snellville high school had 3,365 students, falling slightly behind Mill Creek High in Hoschton, Ga., which had 3,539 students, according to the fifth enrollment count taken on September 6.

Enrollment at and grew substantially from the in August. Initally, South Gwinnett had 1,976, and now there are 2,391. Shiloh had 1,923 students, and now there are 2,065 students enrolled.

Of the GCPS middle schools, Hull Middle in Duluth had the highest enrollment with 2,256 students. Of traditional middle schools, remained at the lowest enrollment with 843 students, and had 1,676, exceeding expectations by 28 students.

Of elementary schools in Snellville, led with 1,110 students. Hopkins Elementary in Lilburn was the county's most populated school, with 1,728 students.

Across the district, there were 162,589 students enrolled after Labor Day, or 130 more than the original prediction of 162,459. That is an increase of 5,630 since the districts first count on Aug. 9.

Last year the school gained 5,068 students from the first to last count. Historically, the school district gains students after Labor Day.
