Gwinnett County Public Schools Salutes Retiring Employees

The Gwinnett County school system thanked its more than 300 professionals who are retiring this school year on May 31 in farewell luncheon.

In all, 372 Gwinnett County Public Schools employees are retiring this year, with 46 being in Snellville schools. One employee worked in the Shiloh cluster transportation office.

In total, this year’s retirees contributed 9,452 years of their lives to education, and a total of 7,096 years to Gwinnett County students, according to a statement from the school district. 

In fact, 35 percent, or 132, of the retirees worked their entire careers in the school district as teachers, principals, bus shop, cafeteria and more. Among the retirees, 155 have more than 30 years of service in education, and seven have more than 40 years in education.
