Gwinnett Schools Seeking Teachers in Sciences, Math Technology

Certified teachers who want to join Gwinnett County Public Schools are invited to attend a career fair this weekend.

Certified teachers who want to join Gwinnett County Public Schools -- especially those certified in math, science, technology and foreign languages – are invited to attend a career fair this weekend.

The fair is aimed at filling positions for the 2014-15 school year in the state’s largest school system. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 22, at the Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth. 

According to its website, the school system is seeking highly qualified educators who hold certificates or will be certified by the fall in the following areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Special education
  • Speech language pathology
  • Spanish
  • French
  • IT programming/engineering
  • Computer science
  • Elementary endorsements in English for Speakers of Other Languages
  • Gifted education

Elementary certified candidates who are highly fluent in Spanish or French with a complete mastery of the vocabulary necessary to teach elementary content in those languages. 

Each year Gwinnett County Public Schools hires teachers for the start of the school year to serve a growing enrollment and to replace retiring educators. Interested individuals should visit the GCPS website www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us to apply online prior to the career fair as there are a limited number of interview times available.
