Gwinnett County Teacher of Year Announcement Nears

There are six finalists, including a teacher from Snellville.

A Snellville teacher will learn Thursday whether she wins the coveted Gwinnett County schools' Teacher of the Year award.

Other finalists for the 2012 honor are Brittany Palazzo of Mulberry Elementary, Keri Beth Tidmore Jones of Dacula Middle, Aundrea Muth of Mill Creek High, Lindsey Cafarella of Peachtree Ridge High and 
Sarah Black of North Gwinnett Middle.

A GCPS committee narrowed the field from 25 semifinalists, who had been selected from 129 local school TOTYs.

The annual announcement of the winner will be Thursday at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth.
