Local Resident to Compete at U.S. Collegiate Championships

Brookwood High graduate and Oglethorpe University senior Louisa Barama will compete in a national ice skating championship in July.

Rising senior Louisa Barama will skate in the United States Collegiate Championships this coming July, according to Oglethorpe University.

Barama manages to balance a full academic load -- she wants to be an atmosphere physicist --while practicing her triple lutz, double axel and layback spin on the ice.

She is a graduate, who still lives in the area. Among many other accomplishments, Barama is Georgia's number one junior division skater from Georgia and the number two overall skater from Georgia.
