South Gwinnett High School's Valedictorian, Salutatorian

Gwinnett County Public Schools releases names of South Gwinnett High School's valedictorian and salutatorian.

Gwinnett Public Schools released today the names of the valedictorian and salutatorian from .

The title of valedictorian is normally given to the student with the highest GPA, and salutatorian is given to the student with the second-highest GPA. Photos of the honorees are attached to the story.

Valedictorian:

, son of Gen-Lee Long Huan-Cheng Tseng, will attend Duke University. His intended major is chemistry, and he plans to pursue a career as a doctor. He has received or been offered several scholarships and awards, including a full-tuition scholarship from Duke University, a National Beta Club scholarship, , AP Scholar with Honor Award,Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, nominated for the Governors Honor's Program for math, Georgia Certificate of Merit, a state qualifer for swimming/diving, among other honors.

School activities include: participating on the swim/dive team, tennis team and band at South Gwinnett High; National Honor Society; Beta Club; Senior Cabinet, and others. Outside high school, Tseng also has volunteered at and tutored other youth.

Salutatorian:

Stella Belonwu, daughter of Marcelle Uzoma, will attend Duke University. Her intended major is biochemistry, and she plans to enter the field of either pharmacy or biomedical engineering. She has received or been offered several scholarships and awards, including a full-tuition scholarship from Duke University, a National Beta Club scholarship, AP Scholar with Honor Award,Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, nominated for the Governors Honor's Program for math and French, among other honors.

School activities include: serving as vice president and president of the Beta Club, serving as secretary of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, French Club, Student Council, peer mentoring and more. Outside high school, Belonwu also has volunteered as a tutor, participated in Relay and volunteered at and J.C Magill Elementary.
