Viewfinder: 'Living the Dream'

Shiloh High hosted "Living the Dream," a celebration in honor of Black History Month. Elementary and middle schools in the Shiloh cluster participated with a variety of dance, music and dramatic performances celebrating African American history.

"It reinforces what they've learned not just during February, but all year," said Eric Parker, the new principal of .

Parker went on to say that he was very excited about the performances because they showcase not only the students' talents but their understanding of black history, as well.

Led by Clara Burks-Jones, a counselor at Shiloh High, a committee of coordinators from seven different Shiloh cluster schools organized the celebration. The event included student performances and a keynote speech by Thomas Dortch, Jr., chairman emeritus of 100 Black Men of America.
