Chloe Pink for Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta

Today, Chloe Pink's friend, Brooklyn ponders the success and challenges of girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) careers.

Brooklyn is a fashionista with a love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subjects. Girls Inc. Operation SMART programming energizes and excites girls about these areas of study, while showing them how relevant these fields are to everyday life. In a “girls only” atmosphere, they learn to recognize technology, math, and science at work and in day-to-day life, removing some of the anxiety behind studying these subjects. This allows them to make and learn from mistakes and helps them to get past the “yuk” factor. By interacting with women and men pursuing STEM careers, girls come to view these careers as exciting and realistic options for themselves.
