Brookwood Beats Rival Parkview 10-0

Broncos win the latest version of Gwinnett's fiercest football rivalry.

Jesse Brown's 42-yard touchdown run was all Brookwood needed Friday night to win the annual Battle of Five Forks-Trickum.

The sophomore scored on the long run early in the second quarter as the Broncos ended a three-game losing streak to start the season and beat rival Parkview 10-0 in Snellville.

Brookwood, which improved to 1-3 overall, also got a 41-yard field from Brandon Morrow, as well as a strong defensive effort, which kept Parkview off the scoreboard despite two Brookwood turnovers and a roughing-the-kicker penalty that had given the Panthers the ball at the 10-yard line.

Parkview fell to 0-5 with the loss, a year after reaching the state quarterfinals.

The annual rivalry game, considered by many as Gwinnett County's fiercest, was well attended despite both teams' lackluster records. Both stands were mostly filled.
