Shiloh 6th Grade Gwinnett Basketball League Wins Championship

The team won against Berkmar 40-33.

The Shiloh 6th grade boys division won the Feb. 9 Gwinnett Basketball League Championship 40-33.

The team is a division of the Shiloh Athletic Association.

Shiloh was down at the end of the third quarter 29-22. Going into the fourth quarter, Shiloh outscored Berkmar 18-4 to win.

"It was a good game," said Coach Marlon Lofton. "They were great and poised down the stretch and their training all year paid off in that game because all 13 players contributed to the win."

Congratulations team!

Not to take away from the teams accomplishments but to ask some questions? Is this reverse discrimination? After seeing this picture, I pose the question are we segregating the schools in the Shiloh cluster. Don't we have any Asians, Hispanics or whites who play basketball? We do according to the last census numbers for the Shiloh district. If you were a black parent wouldn't you be disturbed to see all white coaches and players in this picture?

This is more of an FYI than an answer to your question: this isn't a school team, but a division of the Shiloh Athletic Association. So kids sign up for it. More info here: http://www.saa-youth.org/
