Shiloh Falls to Parkview 30-13

Parkview's run game shines in region matchup against the Generals.

Chris Carson rushed for three touchdowns for Parkview as the Panthers beat Shiloh 30-13 in Lilburn Friday night. He ended the game with 201 yards rushing and on 30 carries and 42 yards receiving. And Carson did it all on his birthday.

Parkview (1-2) defeated Shiloh (1-3) in the Region 8-AAAAA opener for Parkview. Shiloh had no late rally Friday night like it did in a 28-19 last week.

Parkview decided to run the ball early in the game with a 71-yard drive that ended in a fumble by Patrick Flowe.

Shiloh scored early in the second quarter on a one-yard touchdown run. Shiloh's Ellis Livsey completed two passes, one for 32 yards, the other a 42-yard gain, to put Shiloh on the 1. Shiloh connected on the extra point for a 7-0 lead.

Shiloh’s running game was led by Brandon Wise with 34 yards on 19 carries. Devonte James came in at quarterback for Shiloh and had success throwing and rushing but was unable to connect for a score.

Parkview’s first scoring drive in the second quarter kept hope alive going into halftime. Jack Esmonde threw a 42-yard pass to Carson. Flowe finished the drive with a 4-yard touchdown, and Esmonde converted on the two-point conversion on a pass to wide receiver Larry Veal for an 8-7 lead.

Carson started his scoring tally with a 5-yard touchdown in the second half. On the previous play he broke two tackles for a 20-yard run that put Parkview on the 5. He also converted the two-point conversion to make it 16-7 Parkview.

Carson followed it up by finishing a 65-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. Zack Kammer kicked in the extra point to put Parkview up 23-7.

Flowe made up for his early fumble by picking off Shiloh’s quarterback James and returning the ball 43 yards. Flowe was caught near the 50-yard line but knocked off one defender and dragged another until he was taken down by a third at Parkview’s own 29. Flowe ended the game with 41 yards, a touchdown and the interception.

Carson wrapped up his birthday performance by breaking a tackle and hurdling a Shiloh player on the ground for his third touchdown of the night to seal the game 30-13 for Parkview.

“I felt the team did well and I played well,” said Carson. “It’s just an extra bonus for my birthday.”

Shiloh will face Dacula for its homecoming game next Friday. Parkview will travel to South
