Shiloh High School's softball team will start the school year without one of its coaches.

Melissa Lewis, who coached at Shiloh High for five years, has accepted a position as the girls basketball coach at Woodmont High School in South Carolina, according to a report on GreenvilleOnline.com.

As a student at Chapman High in South Carolina, Lewis was a leading basketball and volleyball player, according to the report. This earned her a basketball scholarship to Lander University.

Lewis graduated from Landers University in 1991, and then attended Columbia State University, where she earned a master's degree in education and served as a basketball coach.

Over her career, Lewis also officiated a number of NCAA basketball games.
