South Gwinnett's Carter in All-Star Game

Reginald Carter, a defensive end at South Gwinnett High, will play today in an all-star bowl for star high school football players.

Reginald Carter, of , will take the field today for the Georgia Junior Bowl, touted by its organizers as the first all-star football game of its kind showcasing the top high school football players in the state of Georgia.

Kick off will be at 7 p.m. today at  Stadium. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.

The 200-pound Carter is a defensive end with the Comets, and already has offers from: Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Mississippi, Mississippi State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, University of Central Florida and Vanderbilt.

Carter previously played for Stephenson High School, as well. (See the attached video for highlights of a 2010 game.) He graduates from South Gwinnett High in 2013.

The purpose of the Georgia Junior Bowl is to enhance student athletes recruiting exposure before their senior year and to aide in the their development academically, athletically and socially, according to the event's website.
