Georgia's Clean Air Campaign warns of poor air quality for the metro Atlanta area

An alert issued on Wednesday afternoon for Thursday by Georgia's Clean Air Campaign forecasts the air quality at 116 - which signifies a Code Orange Smog Alert.

The alert is for the metro Atlanta area and includes Snellville. This the second alert in as many days and comes at the same time that we are experience potentially record-high temperatures.

Because of the predicted concentrations of ground-level ozone, air quality in metro Atlanta is predicted to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor activities during the late afternoon or early evening. That's when ozone levels are highest.
