Star-Spangled Snellville Nears

The annual fourth of July event will actually be held on the fourth of July this year.

Star-Spangled Snellville is just around the corner, and organizers are working to be sure citizens have a safe and fun time on the town green.

This year, the festivities will be organized by Snellville Tourism and Trade, though in years past of Snellville handled.

It is being presented and sponsored by a number  of groups: , , the Gwinnett Citizen (sponsor), (sponsor) and (sponsor).

Fun begins 3 p.m. on July 4, which is Wednesday. Fireworks will shoot off at dusk.

There will be entertainment, a bungee jump and train rides, along with a number of games, such as the watermelon eating contest, a cake walk and a cookie walk.

Organizers also are encouraging visitors to wear their best red, white and blue outfits.

Fourth of July Schedule:

3- 3:30 p.m. – Maria Cox and Thad Clark

3:45-4:45 p.m. – Jordan Humphrey

4:45-5:30 p.m. - Games and contests on the lawn

5:45-7:30 p.m. - Fine Line Band

7:30-7:45 p.m. - Reading of the Declaration of Independence – Tony Webb

7:45-9:00 p.m. - Gwinnett Community Band

9:15 p.m. (approximately)- Firewworks
