Volunteers Donate Services to Snellville Equine Therapy Center

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, nearly 40 volunteers cleared trees, cleaned pastures and learned basic horse therapy skills at the horse therapy center C2 It and the Endless Ribbon Foundation.

Local volunteers donated their time and effort on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to help out the equine therapy center C2 It and the Endless Ribbon Foundation in Snellville.

A total of 38 volunteers, 32 of which were students at Grayson High, the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology, Emory University and more, spent most of their Monday (Jan. 20) clearing trees, cleaning pastures and learning basic horse therapy skills, according to Endless Ribbon boardmember Caren Davis.

"We had a blast," said Caroline Jaffee, chairwoman of Endless Ribbon. She added that more than half of the kids who volunteered Monday have already asked to come back to lend a hand again. "We had a great, great time, and we just wanted to thank the community."

Jaffee also gave special thanks to the Gwinnett Volunteer Coalition, Snellville Mayor Kelly Kautz, Mayor Pro Tem, Councilman Bobby Howard, Councilwoman Diane Krause, City Manager Butch Sanders and the Parks and Recreation department. Atlanta Bread Co. in Snellville and Farm Burger in Decatur also provided breakfast and lunch for all the volunteers.

C2 It is a private 20-plus acre ranch providing rescued horses and humans therapeutic services and support. The organization aims to help children and adults who learn differently, suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or have survived trauma, according to its website. To volunteer or learn more about the Endless Ribbon Foundation and C2 It, visit www.erfinc.org, or contact Caroline Jaffee at 404-731-2143 or cjaffee9@yahoo.com.
