New London Theatre Changing Locations

Snellville's nonprofit community theater must close its Main Street doors in March.

(Editor's Note: Below is a message to patron from New London Theatre, Snellville's own nonprofit community theater.)

Dearest Patrons,

You know the saying, "When one door closes, another one swings open"?  I've always felt that was true, but no more than now.

I was drafting up the final letter to you, our Patrons, letting you know that the board of New London Theatre decided the only course of action due to financial hardship was to close the doors after our current show Cheaper by the Dozen. Through the support of our patrons and benefactors, we have done our best to continue bringing you quality shows even through these unfortunate hard economic times. We just could not handle the high overhead of our lease and bills. The Board spoke to our landlord ,and they have let us out of our lease as of March 31, 2012.

THEN - the amazing happened!! A friend and patron of New London Theatre had a brilliant idea that has brought new life to us! Margins Charity Thrift and Variety Mall is donating the space for us to continue our mission to bring you high-quality, family friendly shows. Our space in this store is over 6,000 square feet. This is almost double of our current location!!

So, I am proud to announce that New London Theatre will be opening up its NEW DOORS on March 30, 2012 with the scheduled show Nunsense 2: The Second Coming at our new location: 2338 Henry Clower Boulevard SW; inside Margins Charity Thrift and Variety Mall. This will bring New London Theatre just up the street to the New London Plaza!

We will be working nonstop to get the new location ready and if you are so inclined to help, please feel free to contact me at 678-697-4141 or send me an email.  We are in need of people to volunteer their time and talents in things such as relocating items from the current location, organizing, drywall, installing our seats, and a slew of other much needed help.  We have secured some temporary funding needed for the move, but your donations, as always, are greatly appreciated.

We are thrilled to still be the only community theatre in Snellville and cherish you, our patrons. I hope that you are as excited as we are in our adventures in our new home.
