Balloon Release at the Brookwood Game and the Farmers Market's Last Day: This Week in Snellville

Check out what's going on in Snellville from Sept. 23-28.

Here's what's happening in Snellville this week (Sept. 23-28): 

1. Snellville City Council Meeting: On Monday (Sept. 23), the council and mayor will meet at 6:30 p.m. for a work session and the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Snellville City Hall. The big topic of the evening is the reconsideration, discussion and action to rescind the approval of the order of declaratory judgment by George Anderson that was made at the last city council meeting. 2. Snellville Public Safety Night: Similar to National Night Out, get ready for an evening of K9 demos, kids activities and booths on public safety Tuesday (Sept. 24). Get the full details here.

3. Evermore CID Meeting: The Evermore Community Improvement District is meeting Wednesday (Sept. 25) for its regular monthly meeting. The meeting will take place at the CID building at 5525 Bermuda Rd. in Stone Mountain.

4. Balloon Release at Brookwood Football Game: This Friday's football game against Parkview will not only hold some good old fashioned rivalry but also a balloon release. Before the game, Snellville Mayor Kelly Kautz and the Brookwood Band will be releasing the balloons for the Amanda Riley Foundation and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Students are encouraged to wear gold T-shirts. 

5. The Last Day of the Snellville Farmers Market: After a long season, the Snellville Farmers Market is coming to a close this Saturday (Sept. 28). Be sure to check out and shop among the dozens of vendors before the market shuts down until next year. The market is held from 8 a.m. to noon on the Snellville Towne Green, across from city hall.

6. Live on the Lawn: Excite! The Party Band will be performing at the city's last Live on the Lawn event of the year. Listen to classics like Bad Girls, Billie Jean and Build Me Up Buttercup, along with contemporary rock this Saturday (Sept. 28) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the town green.
