Election Day Is Almost Here and HS Football Is Nearly Over: This Week in Snellville

Check out what's happening this week (Nov. 4-9) around town.

Here's what's happening in Snellville this week: 

1. 'Eyes of Freedom': The traveling exhibit honoring the fallen Marines of Lima Company 3/25 is coming to Snellville after being in neighboring Loganville. The exhibit can be seen at the Snellville Police Department on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 4-6). Click here for more details.

2. Election Day: The first Tuesday is November (Nov. 5) is finally here. Cast your votes in the city election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Snellville City Hall, located at 2342 Oak Rd. 3. Walk-a-Weigh Program: Learn about reading labels, controlling calorie intake, avoiding empty-calorie foods, and preparing quick and easy recipes while losing weight Wednesday (Nov. 6) at the Centerville Community Center. The class is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 3025 Bethany Church Rd. Click here for more details.

4. High School Football: The season is almost over for the kiddos. This Friday (Nov. 8), Brookwood is playing Grayson, South Gwinnett is playing at Parkview, and Shiloh is hosting Central Gwinnett. The outcome will determine which teams are going to the playoffs.

5. Holiday Craft Paper Quilt Class: The Centerville Community Center also is having its Holiday Craft Paper Quilt Class on Saturday (Nov. 9). From noon to 1 p.m., take part in the center's Take part in the creation of our Community Paper Quilt by creating your own section. The assembled quilt will be displayed in the center during the holiday season.
