Wat Buddha Khanti of Atlanta
770-979-9375
Wat Buddha Khanti on Zoar Church Road is a temple community for Buddhist monks and visitors. The temple provides accommodation for Buddhist monks, who gather each morning to meditate and chant. Also serving as a meeting place for Buddhist teachings, Lao art, culture and language, the peaceful and beautifully landscaped grounds of the temple are a source of tranquility that creates the perfect ambiance for meditation.
Traditional ceremonies, festivals, teaching, chanting and meditation are also conducted in and around a main hall, and the architectural highlight of the community is a colorful temple in the classic Lao Buddhist style. A new hall located to the eastern side of the older buildings provides an ideal venue for meetings, classrooms and as a theater and music studio for the Lao Student Orchestra. The temple's head monk is Ven. Boonnong Thomas Phommasone.
