Snellville's David and Elaine Payne Train and Race for a Cause

The couple takes part in marathons, half marathons, triathlons, cycling events and hiking adventures while fundraising to help the fight against blood cancer

Snellville resident David Payne started his journey with 'Team In Training' -- the country’s largest charity-based sports endurance training program -- by taking a 111-mile bike ride in Tucson, Ariz., back in 1999. He wanted physical activity that involved being outdoors while making a difference in the lives of others. His wife, Elaine was inspired to get involved with Team In Training (TNT) at an information meeting. She then began her path with TNT by running a marathon in Bermuda in 2000.  Together, the couple has completed 27 events with TNT as either participants or coaches. David rode 100 miles around Lake Tahoe as a member of the America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride Cycling Team in 2011, and in the summer of 2012, he was a riding …
