News Nearby: Loganville Mother Shoots Burglar Several Times

A burglar was shot by a Loganville homeowner Friday morning. She was hiding in an attic space and shot him when he located her.

UPDATE: According to Walton County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Keith Brooks, the young mother shot the burglar after he broke into her Loganville home Friday morning. Brooks said deputies were called in on a report of a burglary in progress. The home was in the Henderson Ridge subdivision off south Sharon Church Road. "She was aware he was trying to break into the home and took the children and hid in an attic space with them, but he found her," Brooks said, adding that was when she shot him. "She then ran to a neighbor with the children and he left in a car." Brooks said the burglar subsequently wrecked the car in the woods, which is where the deputies found him. The latest news on this is, he broke into the front door, heard the mother talking on the phone and then proceeded to find her. In doing this he had to break open the locked bedroom door, the locked bathroom door and open the crawl space door. If he only wanted items to steal, why go to all the trouble to find this person? News Nearby: Former Loganville Funeral Director's License Suspended After He Dismembers Body

He is also accused of threatening to kill a colleague and he reportedly attempted suicide inside his Loganville Funeral Home.

Ellenberg Funeral Services on Highway 81 in Loganville closed down almost as quickly as it opened. It is now being reported that the owner, William B. Ellenger III, has had his licenses suspended following a series of bizarre incidents. According to CBS Atlanta, Ellenberg, who also is the owner of Metro Embalming and Crematory in Conyers, had his license suspended after it was reported that he dismembered an 800-pound body in the Conyers location in order to fit it into the crematory. Conyers police investigated and reported it is not a crime to do so. Permission needs to be sought from the family first, though, and it is reported that Ellenberg did not do so.
