Beverly Jane Smith Reece, age 77, of Snellville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, H. Andrew “Andy” Reece; son, Hugh Reece (Marie); daughter, Elizabeth Reece (Tom) Bettress; four grandchildren, Colin Reece, Tommy Bettress, Tyler Bettress, and Rachel Bettress; other relatives and a host of friends. Beverly was born in Birmingham, Ala., on September 12, 1934, to Thelma Maude Loper Smith and Hugh Lee Smith. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, AL and attended Birmingham Southern College. She served as Church organist for 40 years in Alabama and Georgia. Martena H. Williams, age 77, of Jefferson, Ga., formerly of Snellville, Ga., passed away August 9, 2012. Martena graduated from Miami Jackson High School and attended the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she received her nursing degree. She married Glenn C. Williams and was married to him for 39 years when she lost him due to a heart attack. The family moved to Snellville with their three children in 1979. Martena owned and operated Williams Home Medical Supplies in Snellville for eleven years. She was an active member of the community until her health failed. Josephine Long Starnes, age 87 of Snellville, Ga., departed this life on Thursday, July 19, 2012. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jay McClellan, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Amanda Starnes, grandson, Ian McClellan, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Joe Starnes, and parents, Cecil and Bunnie Long. Josephine was born in Little Mt., South Carolina. She retired with over 20 years service with C&S Bank in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a member of the Snellville First Baptist Church; she was in the Phebean Sunday School Class and also a member of the Senior Choir. Josephine also loved quilting.
