Snellville Student Named Candidate for Presidential Scholars Program
Yili E. Yao, a Brookwood student, will now compete for the prestigious academic honor. Winners will be flown to Washington, D.C., for a special ceremony at the White House.
Ten Gwinnett County teens, including a Brookwood High student, have recently been named as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the highest honors for high school students. The application process is by invitation only. To be chosen as an academic candidate, high school seniors must score exceptionally well on either the SAT or the ACT, or be nominated. For arts candidates, high school students must also demonstrate academic achievement and participate in the National Young Arts Foundation program, among other criteria.
