Youth Violence Summit at Victory for the World Church June 20

The summit and vigil will take place at the same North Hairston Road Church where two people shot each other to death in the parking lot last week.

The local church where a deadly shoot-out occurred in the parking lot after a funeral last week will be the scene of a Summit on Youth Violence and Interfaith Vigil next week. DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis, Public Safety Director William Miller, the church's pastor Rev. Kenneth Samuel and Rev. Gerald Durley will be part of the Summit on Youth Violence next Wednesday, June 20, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Victory for the World Church, 1170 North Hairston Rd., according to a press release from DeKalb County about the event. The summit is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring a candle for the vigil and to carpool if they can.  Community organizations that address youth violence can set up table at the event.  The …
