Twenty-seven officers from various police departments trained in a weeklong class that covered shooting reconstruction, gunshot residue and more.
This past week, law enforcement officers trained at the Gwinnett County Police Department to strengthen their crime investigation skills through a shooting reconstruction course. The course was part of the kickoff for the Forensic Training Source, a new non-profit organization based in Cumming that is dedicated to law enforcement training nationwide. The week-long class covered a number of scenarios including gunshot residue, identifying bullet marks, motor vehicles as a target surface and report writing. Gwinnett County Police arrested Jamad Wallace of Stone Mountain, Ga in connection to the murder of a man at a Lawrenceville drug store in 2012.
After a nearly nine month search, Gwinnett County Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a man at a CVS in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Jamad Wallace, 21 of Stone Mountain, was arrested Wednesday in Dekalb County and taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Wallace is charged with murder in relation to the death of Alex Delgado Ramos, 27 of Lawrenceville last year. On March 4, 2012, officers responded to a shooting at the CVS at 1187 Grayson Highway at around 10pm. Ramos was found outside the drugstore with a gunshot to the left side of his head. Gwinnett County Police are investigating an armed robbery reported Aug. 12 at the QuikTrip at 3490 Centerville Highway. According to the police report, a suspect entered the store after 1 a.m. brandishing a gun. Police describe the suspect as a black male, around 160 to 170 pound, who wore black clothing, a dark beanie, an orange bandana and sunglasses. When police arrived, cashier Adam Davis stated that the suspect robbed him at gunpoint while customers were in the store. As Davis was assisting customers, the suspect jumped over the counter and grabbed Davis by the collar, forcing him to his knees.
