Snellville Woman on Roster for Atlanta Steam, Women's Football League

The women's league formerly known as the Lingerie Football League plans to debut in Gwinnett in April.

The Legends Football League, which until recently was known as the Lingerie Football League, has announced the roster for the Atlanta Steam on its website. The women's football league plans to open play in April 2013 in Gwinnett.  Former Arena Football League player Ray Norell is the head coach. Snellville's Alexandria Stone, 24, is among the 20 women on the team. She is described as tall, versatile, strong and that she plays angry. Her Facebook fan page says that she is looking to local small businesses for support, so if you want Stone to "promote your clothing line, marketing or suggest your business," contact her at StoneLFL34@gmail.com. Video: Lingerie Football League Suit Up For Performance

Get ready, Gwinnett. The women-only league re-brands itself as Legends, and introduces 'peformance wear' for the players.

The women-only football league that plans to debut in April in the Gwinnett Arena has a new name and new uniforms. The Lingerie Football League announced Wednesday (January 9) in Los Angeles that it now is calling itself the Legends Football League. And its uniforms will now be "performance wear," instead of the lingerie that characterized its previous years. "This is the next step in the maturation of our now global sport. While the Lingerie Football League name has drawn great media attention, allowing us to showcase the sport to millions, we have now reached a crossroad of gaining credibilty as a sport or continuing to be viewed as a gimmick," said Mitchell Moraza, LFL founder and chairman, in a news release.
